LEHI, Utah (ABC4 News) The body of a man who police say shot his estranged wife at a gas station in American Fork has been found.
American Fork Police issued a press release saying the body of Michael Darrin Lowe was found by a citizen Sunday morning in Willow Park in Lehi.
When police arrived they located Michael Lowe in some thick weeds and partially buried in the snow. Police believe he had walked into some thick brush in order to conceal his location.
Police had been searching for Michael Lowe since December 24 when he allegedly entered the Fast Gas in American Fork and shot his estranged wife Tina Marie Lowe multiple times that left her in extremely critical condition.
Investigators have not come across any evidence that Michael Lowe ever left the area after finding his vehicle abandoned in Lehi the same day of the shooting.
A cause of death will have to be determined by the Medical Examiner's Office however, police said they did find a gun, believed to be the one used in the shooting, next to Michael Lowe's body.
Tina Lowe remains in the hospital in serious condition.
