WEST JORDAN, Utah (News4Utah) A man is in custody after police say he barricaded himself inside a West Jordan home for several hours Monday afternoon.
It happened near 8530 South 3950 West.
Around 1:30 p.m. Monday, police attempted to talk to Christopher Baron,45, about a mobile home fire that happened Sunday near 8500 South 3600 West Sunday afternoon -- just next to the suspect's home.
"He is a suspect in an arson which occurred last night," said Sgt. J.C. Holt with West Jordan Police.
As officers tried began to approach him, he ran from the front yard and barricaded himself inside the home while holding a handgun, Holt said.
After several hours, the man turned himself in without further incident.
He is facing charges of possession of a weapon by a restricted person and possesion of an explosive device.
