60 soldiers with the Utah Army National Guard's 2nd battalion, 211th aviation are leaving for their 12-month deployment to Kosovo.
“We've had soldiers in Kosovo since 1999,” said Lt. Col. George Leonard Barton. “When Yugoslavia broke up it created some gaps and there was a lot of fighting.”
Another group of Utah National Guard soldiers will deploy Sunday from Salt Lake International Airport.
They'll train at Fort Hood, Texas first then will head to Kosovo.
