With the click of a mouse, directly from your desktop, laptop or other digital device cyber Monday is shopping made easy.
"Between shipping yesterday and today we'll be shipping about 60,000 orders,” said Edyta McQueen, fulfillment division manager for Backcountry.com, an online outdoor retailer that started in Utah.
McQueen says that number is six times their usual shipping volume. "Cyber Monday is pretty crazy," said McQueen.
So, to prepare for the busiest online shopping day of the year, Backcountry.com beefed up on staff, worked the weekend and came in extra early Monday morning to make buying convenient for shoppers and those who stayed away from the Black Friday frenzy.
"You can sit back enjoy your cup of coffee or coco and not have to deal with the crowds and the chaos and cruise the good deals that our out there and get some really good gear,” said McQueen.
Despite the rush of orders coming in between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the online retailer says they took Thanksgiving off and came back full force to assure shipments be sent out the very next day.
"We're excited and this is a fun time of year. It’s busy, but we have fun doing it,” said McQueen.
Cyber Monday lasts throughout the day on Monday. Many deals continuing all week long, including products found at http://www.backcountry.com
