Police believe the suspect placed a skimming device in a vending machine in the lobby of the U.S. Post Office, 5495 S. 4015 W., between December 13-18, 2013. The device enabled him to obtain users debit/credit card numbers and pin numbers.

He was then able to transfer that information to blank debit/credit cards and used them to make withdrawals at ATMs in the downtown Salt Lake City area this month.

The suspect is described as a white male between the ages of 30-40 with facial hair. He has been seen wearing a black jacket and a black beanie.

It is wise to check your online banking statements regularly to spot fraudulent activity. If you find anything contact your bank and police as soon as possible.
