FARMINGTON, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - A Utah man accused of severely beating and killing his fiancée’s 4-year-old son, has been charged with assaulting a jail guard.

According to court documents, Nathan Sloop, 35, currently housed at the Davis County Jail, punched a jail guard in the face.

The guard pushed Sloop away, but Sloop charged scratching the guard with his fingernails.

Charging documents also say Sloop attempted to gouge out the guards eye with his thumb.  A struggle occurred when another guard attempted to separate Inmate Sloop and the guard.

When guards attempted to give Sloop a mattress and a new set of jail clothing, Sloop asked for a toothbruth because, "I still have pieces of his skin in my mouth."
