What is Kid Con?

Bring your kids to Comic Con and let them experience all the great attractions Kid Con has to offer!

Salt Lake Comic Con is less than a week away! Hotels are selling out and celebrities are lining up take part in this great event. Ron Perlman of Hellboys and Sons of Anarchy has just announced that he will be joining the cluster of celebrities appearing at Comic Con this year.

Comic Con is also offering a fun section for your little ones called Kid Con. Bring your children to play in this fun division of Comic Con catered to younger audiences.  Various performances from magic shows, to science experiments, and even an appearance from a member of the MythBusters cast are sure to keep your child entertained! Comic Con is free for children under 10, and Kid Con is included with the General Admission ticket for all.

Happening on the Kids Stage:
• King Of Random - The king of Random has Millions of views per month. Call it "mad science", or just a "quest for discovery". He does experiments, life-hacks, and random weekend projects.
• Magic Of Craig Campbell - Come enjoy the exciting magic of Craig Campbell. shows Thursday 7PM Friday 6PM Saturday TBD
• Rebel Legion Droid Show - Come Join the Jedi Masters and learn about droids. Prepare for the exciting droid races. As Jedi Masters compete one droid against another. See which Jedi has built the best droid. There will be photo-ops after.
• Mythica actors - Melanie Stone and Jake Stormoen will do Q&A on movie acting and show you clips from there upcoming movies.
• Kids Super Hero Parade - Come join our Super Hero Parade. Show your costume off and have fun on the stage. You will get to go show your moves and parents can do a photo-op as you cross the stage. Sign in early for parades. Space is Limited.
• Kids Prince and Princess Parade - Come join our Prince and Princess Parade. Show your costume off and have fun on the stage. You will get to go show your moves and parents can do a photo-op as you cross the stage. Sign in early for parades at the table by the stage. Space is lLimited.
• Grant Imahara Saturday 12:30 PM only - presentation on himself and Mythbusters on KidCon stage
• Come meet the actors of the Movie: My Dog Zeus

• Daniel Bishop - "Daniel Bishop, the Storyteller spins tales on the lighter side of spooky. These stories will scare you out of your seat, make you scream and laugh your guts out. Boo! is spooky fun for the whole family."
• Utah Children’s Theater - Shakespeare Festival: Shakespeare for short attention spans. Saturday Only. 10:30AM.
• Aria and Wildfire - AriA and WildFire are a premier duo act! They've performed numerous times in Utah and around the western United States. Their specialties include LED/fire poi, double staffs, long staff, integrating acroyoga into their routines and stilt walking!! Wildfire also does stunning acts on the static trapeze! You can see this playful and awe inspiring duo at kidscon Only Friday 3PM
• Learn to Draw with Kris Cooper - Watch Kris Cooper draw on the KidsCon stage and teach you the secrets of drawing. Kris is a successful freelance artist and has been drawing his whole life. He will teach you the basics of freehand drawing. He will also cover the basics of electronic tablet drawing.

First Robotics Competition - Salt Lake Comic Con is proud to have a “STEAM” Initiative. Were proud to help support the local high schools with their programs. If you take a look at the ComicCon world you can see many breakthroughs come through comics and science fiction. These kids are building robots and imagining a future that gets inspired from comics and Sci-Fi. There also helping inspire the next generation of kids. With organizations like the FLL, FRC and the FTC. They will be bringing a full competition field. And high schools from all over the Utah and Idaho will be participating.
Super Hero training - We will be doing superhero training in KidCon. Kids will have a chance to become superheroes. We will go over a code of ethics. Have several different challenges for them. They will have a chance to learn what it is to be a Super Hero. And when they complete everything they will get an official KidCon Superhero certificate.

Coloring station - Kids and Crayons, Coloring Contest

Crafting Station - We will have a crafting station setup for kids to watch and make some cool props.



KidCon Gaming Schedule:

Zombie Dice Tournament
1pm to 3pm Friday, September 5
$5 Entry, winner gets a copy of Zombie Dice Deluxe and all of the expansions for the game! Brains!!! Don’t get caught with the shotguns. Ages 7+, approximately 30 minutes per game, limit 20 players.

Munchkin Tournament
2pm to 4pm Friday, September 5
$5 entry, winner gets a copy of the Munchkin of their choice, plus some Munchkin loot! Stab your buddy, steal the treasure, win the game! Approximately 1 hour per game. Ages 10+, limit 36 players.

3pm to 5pm Saturday, September 6
$5 entry, winner gets a copy of the Munchkin of their choice, plus some Munchkin loot! Stab your buddy, steal the treasure, win the game! Approximately 1 hour per game. Ages 10+, limit 36 players.

Family board games demos and free play all day every day that the con is open.

Paint and Take Gaming Miniatures, sponsored by Reaper Miniatures, available all day every day. Learn to paint a miniature. All paints and miniatures and other supplies are supplied by Reaper.
