SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 Utah)- What's usually a quick trip between Salt Lake City and Los Angeles turned into a major headache for passengers. Some flights cancelled and others were delayed for three or four hours.
"It was kind of scary because we didn't know what was going on," said passenger Cynthia Guzman.
Cynthia Guzman was traveling with her two sons in LAX at the same time the shooting was happening in another terminal.
"I was so afraid that something else was going to happen there. But it was a good thing that we were not too close to where that happened," said Guzman.
Just before 9:30am, Bob Hoffman was on is way to LAX.
"I was on the rental car bus getting ready to go into the terminal and we got re-routed when the gunfire was reported," said passenger Bob Hoffman.
So Hoffman played the waiting game with few details as to what had happened or what would happen.
"I sat there for a couple of hours with probably several hundred other people that were coming in to the airport," said Hoffman.
Hoffman drove to Ontario and flew to Salt Lake on a different flight. The Guzman Family were delayed three hours. Finally, they all made the last leg of their trip home.
"We're home. We're home and we're safe," said Guzman.
