Utah widow brings awareness to dangers of texting and driving

The widow of a Utah man killed in a crash caused by a texting driver raises money and awareness of the risks and consequences involved with texting and driving.
PROVO, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - A Utah woman is sharing her personal story of tragedy in hopes of creating awareness for a growing public safety concern, texting while driving.

Leslee Henson and her husband, David, were hit by a texting driver in March in St. George. David was killed and now Leslee and her family are working to bring awareness to distracted driving. She and a daughter are taking their message to area high schools and this past weekend, they even took to a golf course to talk about the topic.

Leslee attended a 4-man scramble golf tournament at East Bay in Provo in David's memory and to raise money for their campaign. Leslee's son organized the event, geared toward raising money to fund billboards, T-shirts, bumper stickers and signs for high school parking lots. The family is working to change laws in Utah to make it a hands-free state.
