The latest incident happened just before 2 a.m. when he side swiped Officer Jordan Schmidt.
"Obviously a lot of damage done to the officer's car, honestly we are lucky we didn't lose an officer last night," said Lt. Jeff Nigbur with the Utah Highway Patrol.
Officer Schmidt was on the side of Interstate 215 checking on an abandoned car when he noticed Reeves approaching quickly from behind.
"He sideswiped the car and continued on but due to the damage to his pick-up truck, he was unable to keep going," said Lt. Nigbur.
Reeves left the scene but didn't get far after the front tire came off his truck.
"He stopped his car and went out on foot and he was apprehended by UPD officer a little shortly after," says Lt. Nigbur.
According to a probable cause statement, the arresting trooper "could smell the strong odor of alcohol coming from Reeves in an open air environment."
"He does have prior DUIs that will be taken into account with the charges and possibly an enhancement which would be a felony his case," said Lt. Nigbur.
Reeves was charged with a DUI, leaving the scene of an accident involving an injury, not having insurance and driving with a revoked registration. He could face up to 5-years in prison.
Officer Schmidt is at home recovering with minor injuries to his shoulder.
