UDOT closures affect weekend commutes

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - The Utah Department of Transportation advises drivers to be aware of closures and roadwork this weekend that will affect weekend commutes.
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - The Utah Department of Transportation advises drivers to be aware of closures and roadwork this weekend that will affect weekend commutes.

I-80 at Wanship interchange, bridge replacement

Eastbound I-80 will close at the Wanship interchange for a bridge replacement from Saturday at 6 p.m. to Sunday at 6 p.m. Drivers are encouraged to use I-84 through Ogden as an alternate route and watch overhead message signs for updates. 

I-80 and I-215, ramp closures

The westbound I-80 to southbound I-215 ramp and the northbound I-215 to eastbound I-80 ramp will close nightly from Thursday starting at 10 p.m. Saturday at 5 a.m. As crews repave the ramps, drivers are encouraged to use 1300 East as an alternate route.

Northbound I-15, lane restrictions and ramp closures

Nighttime lane closures continue on northbound I-15 in Salt Lake County between 7200 South and 3300 South. Drivers should plan ahead for intermittent ramp closures in this area as well. Crews are applying new lane markings that are more reflective and require less maintenance.

Orem Center Street interchange, opening

In Utah County, the Orem Center Street interchange is scheduled to open as early as Monday morning. Crews have converted it to a Single Point Urban Interchange to improve traffic flow.

University Parkway, ramp closure

The southbound off-ramp at University Parkway is scheduled to close as early as Saturday night at 8 p.m. to Monday morning at 5:30 a.m. for paving. The ramp will also close for several nights beginning Monday night for repaving.  Drivers can use Provo Center Street or 800 North in Orem as an alternate route.

Heber City, lane restrictions

At the intersection of U.S. 40 and U.S. 189 in Heber City, lane restrictions and flagging will be in place while crews repave the intersection. Work will require daytime closures, so drivers should plan ahead and expect minor delays.
