Top Ten Things to Do at Comic Con

With so many events taking place at this year’s Comic Con it can be hard to decide where to spend your time. Find out the ten things the founder of Salt Lake Comic Con suggests you should do!
Comic Con is coming to Salt Lake City September 4th-6th, 2014. With so many events taking place at this year’s Comic Con it can be hard to decide where to spend your time. Dan Farr, producer and founder of Salt Lake Comic Con, gave his advice on the top ten things to do at Salt Lake Comic Con:

1.Meet your favorite celebrity.
2.Hear video game music in a whole new way with the Utah Symphony.
3. Explore a bit of Evermore Park.
4.Take a photo with Gollum.
5. Dress up as your favorite character.
6. Go "Back to the Future" with the DeLorean.
7. Play an intense game of Zombie Laser Tag.
8. Enter the Salt Lake Comic Con Official Cosplay Contest.
9. Meet your favorite comic book artists in Artist Alley.
10. Attend the Comic Con Bash in support of the Millie's Princess Foundation.


The Second Annual Salt Lake Comic Con will be held September 4-6, 2014 at the Salt Palace. The event is a pop culture convention event that brings comics, fan art, sci-fi, anime, fantasy, film and TV and their associated comic creators, artists, actors, performers, authors, celebrities and professionals to meet and interact with their fans. Attendance is expected to reach over 120,000. The inaugural Salt Lake Comic Con was the largest first year Comic Con in North American history and Utah's largest convention ever with over 72,000 attendees. Salt Lake Comic Con FanXperience broke those records. Held in April, FanX had over 100,000 attendees, making it the largest Comic Con per capita and the third largest Comic Con in North America. Salt Lake Comic Con is bringing cast members from TV shows and movies like Arrow, The Big Bang Theory, The Hobbit, Back to the Future, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Breaking Bad, Napoleon Dynamite, Hercules, Xena, Smallville, Doctor Who, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Army of Darkness. The event will have will have more than 250 guests, including comic book artists, authors, and 42 celebrities that will offer photo ops and autographs.

Families will enjoy parades, superhero training, live entertainment, a world-class Lego exhibit and much more inside Salt Lake Comic Con's KidCon area. Guests can pose for photos with Back to the Future's DeLorean, Doctor Who's TARDIS, the original Batmobile, Tony Stark's Audi R8, KITT from Knight Rider, the Star Wars land speeder, and Han Solo in Carbonite. Charity costume clubs will also be posing for photos at Salt Lake Comic Con. Rocky Mountain Muggles, The Rebel Legion Rogue Base and the Alpine Garrison of the 501st Legion. Salt Lake Comic Con's Fantasy Pavilion will feature Evermore Park, and Weta Workshop, the fan-favorite special effects house behind The Lord of the Rings. Guests will get photos with Gandalf, the Trolls, Azog the Defiler, Gollum, Hercules, Autolycus and can explore the Victorian Mini-Park. Nearly 500 vendors and artists from across the world will bring unique, handcrafted, and pop-culture themed merchandise and art.
