SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 Utah) - More than 5,000 volunteers braved wet weather Saturday in order to help out several schools, parks and cities.

It was all part of the 13th Annual Comcast Cares Day.

One of the locations that got some sprucing up was the Road Home's Palmer Court Apartments in Salt Lake City.

Some of the volunteers helping out actually live at those apartments.

“Last year during this time, Comcast came down and I woke up and was wondering what everyone was doing here and I found out it was Comcast that they sent all their employees down here to help out and if they're willing to give up some time I think I can,” said Steven Rader, volunteer.

Nationwide more than 80,000 Comcast and community volunteers participated in the annual day of service.
