Teenager booked in Toquerville homicide

TOQUERVILLE, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) -- Authorities in Washington County have booked a 17-year-old on suspicion of homicide Saturday in connection to the shooting death of a 58-year-old woman earlier this week.
TOQUERVILLE, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) -- Authorities in Washington County have booked a 17-year-old on suspicion of homicide Saturday in connection the death of a 58-year-old woman earlier this week.

In a press release, the Washington County Sheriff's Office said it had submitted a charge of criminal homicide against Joshua David Canfield to the 5th District Court. Additional unspecified charges were also under review by the Washington County Attorney's Office, the release states.

Canfield was booked into the Purgatory Correctional Facility, but he has been separated from the general population until he turns 18.

On Thursday, Canfield was arrested by sheriff's deputies on suspicion of killing Geraldine Bommarito. The 58-year-old woman was discovered dead inside her home after authorities responded to the address on a burglary report. Missing firearms from the case also were recovered after Canfield's arrest.
