“They are truly grieving at this loss and the tragedy that has happened and all the events surrounding it," said Lance Hamblin, a family member and the girls Bishop. "They are heavily supported with family and friends right now and doing the best that they can.”
An account has been set up at all America First Credit Unions under the name "Marli Hamblin" if you'd like to help the family with funeral expenses.
SYRACUSE, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - A 15 year-old is in critical condition, after a family member backed out of the garage and over her.
"She was listening to her iPod with headphones and sunbathing in her driveway, and family member jumped in a truck in the garage and back out of the garage, and backed over her," explained Officer Erin Behm, with the Syracuse Police Dept.
Now, neighbors and friends are rallying together in support of the devastated family.
"We've had so many calls and texts and emails, and... just a lot of support from not only the neighborhood and the ward, but the community, as a whole," explained Lance Hamblin, the girl's cousin and religious bishop.
More than 100 people have gone to visit the girl, sending countless thoughts and prayers her way.
"Right now, the parents are the only ones allowed in her room. Obviously, they need her to rest and not have a lot of noise," said Hamblin.
Family members say medical experts have done everything right, and that now, their loved one's life is in God's hands.
"It's just a huge tragedy, huge accident--one that you just can't prepare yourself in life for.... Every minute counts right now," said Hamblin.
The family has requested that the girls name not be released at this time. They do, however, have medical bills piling up. An account at America First Credit Union has been set up for people who wish to make a donation.
