SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) -- The Utah Highway Patrol is on the lookout for two suspects after troopers were led on a chase that ended in a crash near the Salt Lake City International Airport on Sunday.

The chase started Sunday morning after a UHP Trooper attempted to stop a silver pickup truck with California plates. The pickup and a second passenger car, also with California plates, fled from the area of 7200 West on Interstate 80 eastbound.

Both vehicles exited onto 5600 West, where troopers backed off the chase and called for assistance from other agencies. Airport police soon found the pickup, which had crashed through the fence and was abandoned in a field just off of 5600 West. Police found a loaded gun near the pickup and a large amount of what looked to be marijuana inside the pickup.

The suspects are still at large.
