Sunset students host 5K Run to honor Malala Fund

SUNSET, Utah (Good4Utah) - A group of Davis County 6th graders are trying to bring education to children around the world.
SALT LAKE CITY (Good4Utah) - Davis County sixth graders are working to bring awareness to the needs of children around the world.  They are doing that by inviting you to run a 5K this weekend.

The students learned about Malala Yousafazai and the struggles around the world where girls are denied a formal education.  Beyond missing out on an education, these children of the world are being denied an education, society loses one of its greatest and most powerful resources.

The students at Sunset Elementary want to help fight this and are contributing to the Malala Fund.  A 5k run/walk will be held May 24th beginning at Sunset Jr. High.

Check in begins at 8:30 a.m race begins at 9:00.

Entry fees for the race are $3/button or $15/t-shirt. The logo for the buttons and shirts were designed by the 6th grade students.

You do not need to run/walk to donate. All donations are gladly accepted. Please help us make this successful experience not only for the 6th graders but for children all over via the Malala Fund.
