Stranded family rescued in Cache County

CACHE COUNTY, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) – A family of six is back at home after being rescued near Logan and Blacksmith Fork Canyons.
CACHE COUNTY, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) – A family of six is back at home after being rescued near Logan and Blacksmith Fork Canyons.

Police say Chris and Natalie Kaae had been turkey hunting along with their 4 children, one as young as 5 months old when their car broke down.

The family walked until they were able to get a signal on their cell phone but when they did, they were unable to provide an exact location to police.

Search teams on snow machines tracked a GPS ping on the phone and found the family at about 10:30 Monday night.

In total they were exposed to the elements for around 6 hours. but officials say none of the children or parents suffered any serious injuries.
