SLC remembers Rwanda genocide

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Tutsi genocide survivors and their friends gathered in Salt Lake City to commemorate the 19th anniversary of the genocide against Tutsi in Rwanda.
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Tutsi genocide survivors and their friends gathered at IJ & Jeanne Wagner Jewish Community Center in Salt Lake City to commemorate the 19th anniversary of the genocide against Tutsi in Rwanda.

More than 1 million people were killed during the genocide against Tutsi in Rwanda. 

Scholars are encouraging survivors to document their testimony of the many atrocities committed against innocent children, women and men.

Notable speakers at this event included Dr. Zachary D. Kaufman who wrote Social Entrepreneurship in the Age of Atrocities: Changing our World, Taylor Krauss, a documentary filmmaker and Founder of Voices of Rwanda, and Mathilde Mukantabana a history professor at Cosumnes River College for several years.
