School lock down lifted following possible student with a gun

Authorities have lifted a lock down at three Davis County schools after a report of student with a gun.
CLEARFIELD, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) -   Authorities have lifted a lock down at three Davis County schools after a report of student with a gun. No threat was determined.

Davis County School District officials investigated a report of a 13 year old with a gun at a junior high school Tuesday afternoon.

Three schools were on lock down as district officials and law enforcement conducted searches. The three schools involved included South Clearfield Elementary, North Davis Jr. High, and Clearfield High School.

District officials say they followed emergency protocol until they could confirm the report of a student with a gun.

Investigators say a 13-year-old boy called in a threat from a land line inside North Davis Jr. High School.

The boy was arrested at his home and taken to Farmington Bay Youth Center in Farmington, UT. The boy will be charged with a third degree felony of making a terroristic threat.

Parents of North Davis Jr. High students who wished to pick up their children did so at the church next to the school at 935 S. State St., Clearfield, Utah while the school was being evacuated.

School will be carrying on as usual Wednesday. Counselors will be available to students if they're needed.
