The summit looks at different ways to cut hunger and extreme poverty in our state.
During the summit people were able to ask questions about crime and poverty to both candidates in the running for salt lake county district attorney.
“I choose to be the district attorney because I want to make a broader impact in the community... I want to affect larger paradigm shifts... And I want to create a better criminal justice system... That's why I choose to be the leader of this office,” said Sim Gill, Salt Lake County District Attorney.
“I think that everybody in the community...including law enforcement... Should have the faith and trust and respect in the processes involved in the district attorney's office,” said Steve Nelson, Challenger for Salt Lake County District Attorney.
In addition to the DA forum, the summit also featured a discussion about local efforts to increase ridership on the Utah Transit Authority.
