SALEM, Utah (ABC 4 News) – Tracy Scott admitted to shooting and killing his wife while on the phone with a 911 operator.

A copy of the 911 call was released to ABC 4 News on Wednesday.

Scott made the call from his home on March 23. He tells the operator his wife was shot. Below is an excerpt from the conversation.

Operator: Who shot her?
Tracy: I did.
Operator: Do you still have the weapon?
Tracy: Yes I do.
Operator: Is she awake?
Tracy: No. She’s dead.

Tracy told the operator he had the gun in his hand and he did not want to put it down. He also said he and his wife, Teresa Scott, had been fighting for about two weeks.

He said Teresa was talking to her mother on the phone when he pointed a gun at her. He claimed the gun just went off.

Teresa was found dead in the couple’s Salem home near 300 South and 400 East on March 23. A SWAT team surrounded the home and Scott surrendered.

Scott was charged with murder on April 2. He will appear in court on April 25.
