In 2003, Rick began his on-air career as a Sports Anchor/Reporter at KNDU NBC 25 in Tri-Cities, Washington. A year later he was promoted to Sports Director at KNDO NBC 23 in Yakima, Washington. After less than a year in Yakima, Rick was hired by a station in Salt Lake City where he served as Sports Director for seven and a half years.
Rick has won multiple UBEE Awards from the Utah Broadcasters Association and was named the 2010 Utah Sportscaster of the Year by the National Association of Sportswriters and Sportscasters.
His voice is familiar to Utah radio listeners as well from his time as a host on 1320 KFAN and 1280 The Zone and his regular appearances on KALL 700. He has hosted the Utah High School Heisman Award Ceremony multiple times and emceed Intermountain Donor Services' "Dash For Donation" eight straight years, in addition to charity appearances for the American Red Cross, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and ARUP Blood Services.
