I may have had the BEST work experience of my life this weekend… it’s a little something we like to call “Glamping.”
A group of ladies from work, including new anchor, Nadia Crow, reporter/anchor Kimberly Nelson, producers Mary Anne Bargen and Christie Porter, and web producer extraordinaire Simone Francis, drove south to Brian Head, Utah and spent the weekend at Summit Mountain Lodge Resort.
We wanted to do some team building, and what better way to do that, than spending some time in the great outdoors! But honestly, once the sun goes down, girls want a shower, and a fan, and a big fluffy bed. That’s where this whole “Glamping” thing comes in. (in case you haven’t figured it out… it’s short for glamorous camping.)
SML Resort is a huge lodge with a whole yurt village… and each yurt is glammed out! It’s right next to Dixie National Forest, and when we got there, we had a ton of outdoor activities to choose from… archery, zip lines, a rock wall, hot tub, or ATV’s. We, of course, picked the off-road machines!
We started our trek at the resort, and rode all the way out to Cedar Breaks National Monument. We drove from one side of the scenic overview to the other, and then out to the top of Brian Head resort. The views were breathtaking, the ATV’s were a blast… and, we all came back injury free!
Then, at the end of the day, we got to shower off, eat a fantastic dinner, and play card games late into the night.
Not only was it a fun experience, I got to know a lot about my new co-workers. I’m so proud to say, this is the most amazing group of women I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. And I’m overwhelmed with happiness to know these new friends with be with me for a long time to come!
