Provo Police discontinue AMBER ALERT for 13-year-old boy

PROVO, Utah (ABC 4 Utah)-Saturday afternoon Provo Police Department discontinued the AMBER alert issued 13 year-old Pablo Enrique Rivera, who was believed to have been abducted Friday night by his biological father Juan Enrique Rivera.

UPDATE: Saturday afternoon Provo Police Department discontinued the AMBER alert issued 13 year-old Pablo Enrique Rivera. Provo Police Lt. Matthew Siufanua said, "At this time we believe Pablo is in Mexico and is no longer is in imminent danger." 

PROVO, Utah (ABC 4 Utah)- Provo Police Department has issued an AMBER alert for 13 year-old Pablo Enrique Rivera, who is believed to have been abducted Friday night by his biological father Juan Enrique Rivera.

Officials say Rivera does not have legal custody of the boy and believe he may be headed to Mexico via the San Ysidro Border Crossing.

According to a statement released by the Provo Police Department, Pablo Rivera’s mother, Maria Hernandez, came home around 8:00 p.m. Friday night and found a note from her son stating he was going to go to Mexico with his father.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children says Juan Enrique Rivera kidnapped his daughter 5 years ago and has not returned her.

He is believed to be driving a white newer model Chevrolet 4-door sedan with Mexico license plate number TYB1590. Pablo Rivera’s grandfather may also be in the vehicle.

Pablo Enrique Rivera is Hispanic male about 5-feet-5-inches tall and weighs approximately 100 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, and wears glasses.

Juan Enrique Rivera is described as a 42-year-old Hispanic male 5-feet-ten inches tall, with black hair and brown eyes. He weighs about 200 pounds.
