SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (ABC 4 Utah) - There’s a local bill in the state legislature that would regulate breathalyzer machines in bars.

When a police officer gives a driver a breathalyzer test he is measuring the driver's blood alcohol content or BAC.

Some bars in Utah have their own breathalyzer machines and drinkers can test their own BAC before they drive.

Sergeant Todd Royce from the Utah Highway Patrol talks more about breathalyzer tests.
