This week we're taking a look at some rare relics from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Good 4 Utah’s Don Hudson looks into another historical LDS artifact, the Navoo Legion Sword, with Howard Carlos Smith, the Protector of the Sword.

The sword belonged to Joseph Smith at one time.

The sword was given to Joseph Smith from Wilford Woodruff. It has a French design and is about 200 years old.

Picture shows Joseph Smith who was martyred speaking to those in the Navoo Legion just 11 days before he died. In that meeting Smith said, "If our people do not have their liberty, my blood will be spilled upon the ground and my body consumed to the grave. If the blood is spilled of these people, this sword will not be sheathed again until Christ reigns upon the earth."

Sword was hid away in West Bountiful for 165 years. It was given to Joseph Smith's bishop who then brought it to Utah where it was hidden inside his home.
