Now, this is not my first rodeo. A very common mistake by beginner runners is thinking they can eat whatever they want because they are about to run a marathon. But, in fact keeping a careful eye on your diet the week before will make a huge difference in how you feel race day. So, yes I get to eat pasta gilt-free, but unfortunately not every day this week. Bummer, right?
And although I really want to go skiing Monday and Tuesday (my off days)… I have to wait. Resting your muscles is the MOST important thing one can do the week before a marathon… I’ve made that mistake before too and hit my wall… AT MILE 11! That wasn’t fun.
I’m looking forward to checking out the expo on Friday. I know the sights along the course on Saturday are going to be spectacular. Plus, given the promising forecast of dry weather… we should have some good crowds! Wave if you see me!
