SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - A judge ruled against Josh Powell’s family in their on-going estate case Wednesday.
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - A judge ruled against Josh Powell’s family in their on-going estate case Wednesday afternoon.

The judge said the Powells will not be able to collect the assets in Josh and Susan’s trust when Susan is officially declared "dead."

At issue was nearly $2.5 million dollars in insurance money from Josh and Susan Powell and their two children. Josh Powell committed suicide after murdering his two children. His wife disappeared in Dec. 2009 and her husband was considered a suspect in her murder.

Susan Powell’s parents, Chuck and Judy Cox are the trustees and beneficiaries of the trust, but Josh’s mother Terrica Powell and sister Alina Powell claim the Cox family illegally removed them as beneficiaries of the money.
