The Daily Sentinel reports the Grand Valley Citizens Alliance wants county commissioners to rescind a resolution they adopted after the meeting. That resolution criticizes a federal government proposal to reduce the amount of land available for potential oil shale leasing in Utah, Wyoming and Colorado.
Alliance chair Leslie Robinson says Garfield County commissioners violated Colorado's open-meeting law by failing to provide 24 hours' notice before participating in the Utah meeting.
County Commissioner John Martin says commissioners didn't act illegally. He says the meeting was posted and was a fact-finding mission where no decisions were made.
