NEW YORK (ABC 4 Sports) - Four local college football players were selected on the final day of the NFL Draft.

Utah State safety Mo Alexander was taken in the 4th round with the 110th overall pick by the St. Louis Rams. Alexander grew up in St. Louis and worked as a janitor for the Rams as a teenager. Alexander earned honorable mention all-Mountain West honors as he started 13 straight games as a senior.

Utah cornerback Keith McGill was taken six spots later by the Oakland Raiders. After switching from safety to cornerback as a senior, McGill started all 13 games in 2013, recording 37 tackles, 13 passes defended and returned an interception for a touchdown against UCLA.

Later in the 4th round, Utah State cornerback Nevin Lawson was selected with the 133th overall pick by the Detroit Lions, where he will join BYU linebacker Kyle Van Noy, who was taken in the 2nd round by Detroit. During the 2013 season, Lawson finished the year first on the team in passes defended (17) as he had 13 pass breakups and four interceptions, which ranked first and second on the team, respectively. Lawson was also tied for fifth on the team in total tackles with 57, and was sixth on the team with 5.0 tackles for loss.

In the 7th round, Utah linebacker Trevor Reilly was drafted by the New York Jets with the 233rd overall selection. Reilly, who can also play defensive end, led the Utes in 2013 with 100 total tackles and 8.5 sacks. He also had an interception and a forced fumble. Reilly, 26, played the entire 2012 season with a torn ACL.

In all, five local college players were selected in the 2014 NFL Draft.

BYU's Cody Hoffman and Daniel Sorensen, Utah State's Tyler Larsen and Utah's Jake Murphy surprisingly went undrafted, but will sign free agent contracts soon.
