& Wednesday's Pinpoint Forecast: Today is the calm before the storm, several days of stormy weather actually. It's a very cold morning, with places like Soldier Summit down to -15, and Kimball Junction near Park City is -7. Today will be mostly cloudy north with highs in the 20s and low 30s. Southern UT will be partly cloudy with mainly 30s and 40s. Thursday, the "Pineapple Express" will make its approach with light snow developing across northern UT and southeast ID. That snow will gradually spread in coverage and increase in intensity Thursday night and Friday morning. At this point several inches should accumulate in the lower elevations, but up to 12" in the mountains. This weekend, the tropical plume of moisture will keep precipitation around both days. Warmer air will work in, and the snow levels will rise potentially all the way up to 8000'. The Wasatch Front could hit 50 on Sunday, with rain showers. Snow in the mountains will be heavy and dense. Mountain snow and lower elevation rain will continue through Monday. Then there's another storm likely toward Wednesday. This is terrific news for our snowpack and for clean air!
Have a great day!
