Centerville officer-involved shooting leaves one man dead

CENTERVILLE, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) -- A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Centerville Sunday afternoon.
CENTERVILLE, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) -- A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Centerville Sunday afternoon.

Centerville Police Sgt. Zan Robison said police responded to 550 S. 300 East on a call of a suicidal man. When officers responded, officers found the man was holding a weapon.

Robison said that at some point shots were fired and the man was fatally wounded. Robison said all officers are safe.

The man who was shot was identified by police as Vincent John Farrand, 38.

A protocol shooting investigation team has been deployed. The incident will be investigated by the Davis County Attorney's Office and another police agency from outside Centerville.

The man's name was not released Sunday afternoon. It was also unclear Sunday whether the man had fired any shots at officers.
