Brent's blog: This is what Miss Utah USA should have said

I've got it! I've come up with the answer Marissa Powell should have given Sunday night at the Miss USA pageant. It would have floored even dopey judge NeNe Leakes who asked (or more precisely read) the question.

I've got it! I've come up with the answer Marissa Powell should have given Sunday night at the Miss USA pageant. It would have floored even dopey judge NeNe Leakes who asked (or more precisely read) the three part question.

Here it is:

"Society IS the problem when it comes to pay inequality. Our society reduces women to objects. We can't get equal pay because we're seen as something less -- less smart, less capable, less... human. We are mere objects to be admired. "Playmates." It's not our minds that society wants, only our bodies. And this pageant contributes to objectification."

Humm, how do you think that would have been received by Donald Trump and the Miss USA brass? Or the audience?

Would that have catapulted her from 3rd runner up to winner?

Or would that have only won for her a bus ticket back to Salt Lake?

Who knows?

I think it's certainly a better answer than the one she bumbled and so much better than the the ubiquitous answer to all pageant questions, "world peace."

I should go into pageant coaching.
