Cristina Rendon

Cristina Rendon is thrilled to be a member of the ABC 4 News Team.

Cristina joins ABC 4 from South Texas where she worked as a general assignement reporter and bureau chief for 3 years at the local ABC affiliate. She extensively covered immigration issues and the war against drug cartels in Mexico. Cristina also reported from the trenches each hurricane season, covering the damage and aftermath along the South Texas coast.

One of Cristina's most memorable stories exposed the horrible living conditions of a 12-year-old girl. The malnourished child was locked in a closet for a year at the hands of her mother. The story gained national attention and was featured on Dr. Phil.

Cristina started her career as a reporter and still photographer for Hilltop Views, a student newspaper at St. Edward's University. She went on to hold two successful internships at KXAN Austin News and FOX 7 Austin.

Cristina was born and raised in San Benito, Texas, a small city in the Rio Grande Valley. She is a summa cum laude graduate from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas.

Cristina is excited to explore the outdoor activities Salt Lake and Utah has to offer. Feel free to contact her at
