Search and rescue crews find missing backpackers

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) --Five backpackers who went missing Sunday in the Elk Ridge area of the Manti-La Sal National Forest were found early Monday afternoon.
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) -- Five backpackers who went missing Sunday in the Elk Ridge area of the Manti-La Sal National Forest were found early Monday afternoon. 

Dispatchers with the San Juan County Sheriff's Office say the five backpackers went missing in the Elk Ridge area of the Manti-La Sal National Forest in southern San Juan County.. The party was reported missing at about 3:45 p.m. and crews from the Sheriff's Office continued their search Sunday night on snowmobiles. 

Officials continued their search Monday morning with an air search. The five missing hikers were spotted by a Classic Lifeguard helicopter and were shuttled out by San Juan County Search and Rescue via snowmobiles. All five appear to be in good condition.
