OGDEN, Utah (ABC4 Sports) - Weber State had very little trouble in their Big Sky Conference home opener, crushing UC Davis Saturday night, 41-3.
Quarterback Stefan Cantwell completed just seven passes, but three went for touchdowns, while Treshawn Garrett rushed for 124 yards and another score as the Wildcats romped.
Cantwell finished the day completing 7 of 11 passes for 205 yards.
Rasheed Shaheed starting the scoring barrage, catching a 67-yard touchdown from Cantwell to give the Wildcats a 7-3 lead in the first quarter.
Garrett then broke it open with a 98-yard touchdown run, the longest in school history, to make it 17-3.
All three phases of the game were clicking for Weber State, as evidenced by an 84-yard punt return for a touchdown by Xequille Harry to make it 24-3.
Andrew Vollert caught two touchdown passes from Cantwell to stretch the lead out to 41-3 going into the fourth quarter, and that's the way the game ended.
The Weber State defense held the Aggies to just 13 yards rushing.
The Wildcats improve to 3-1 on the year, and will next play at Montana State September 30th.
