"When I told them I was coming to Utah, they were like, 'Where's Utah?'" Booker said. "But I'm sure I'll get acclimated real quick. From what I've seen being here for a couple of days, I love the city.
After spending the first four years of his NBA career with the Washington Wizards, Booker signed a 2-year, $10-million free agent deal with the Jazz last week.
"I looked at the organization, the players," Booker said. "A great group of guys. Good core players with a lot of potential and I think I have a lot to offer like toughness, a lot of energy, leadership and experience."
Booker says he'll fit into Quin Snyder's system nicely. He has a solid mid-range jumper, but he specializes in defense and rebounding.
"I'll do whatever it takes to win," he said. "If that means knocking somebody out of the air, I'm going to do it. But off the court, I'm just this laid back, chill guy. But once you get me on the court, I'm just an animal."
After watching the Wizards go from a joke to a playoff team last year, Booker is excited to be a part of the Jazz rebuilding process.
"My first three years, we struggled a lot," Booker said of his time in Washington. "But we added some pieces and in that fourth year, we got a lot done. I think I can bring that same experience here in helping get this team over the hump."
