After falling behind 2-0 off a layup by the Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Jazz responded with an 11-0 run over a span of 4:11 in the first quarter to push out to an 11-2 advantage. Milwaukee slowly answered back and eventually swapped the lead on four occasions with Utah midway through the second stanza.
A jumper by Dante Exum -- the fifth pick -- put the Jazz ahead for good with 5:28 remaining on the clock before halftime. The one-point edge blossomed to nine at the intermission and ballooned to double digits three minutes into the third.
Hood then got the hot-hand and drilled four of his 3-pointers in the third before connecting on two more early in the final frame.
The lead grew to as much as 24 points and settled at 16 at the final buzzer.
Besides Hood, the Jazz got a near double-double from Ruby Gobert with 13 points and nine rebounds and a 16-point showing from Brock Motum.
Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 15 points with Jabari Parker -- the second pick -- chipped in 14.
