The school has a lot celebrate. Not only a new year, but a new school and the students love it!
Senior Michael Manu explained, "It's huge, amazing!"
Senior Vivan Nguien said, "My favorite part is the gym, the gym and the track, it looks just like a fitness center."
While the school is great, it is the new sense of pride students also love.
Bianca Gomez said, "It makes us proud that everyone supported us in getting the new building."
And Student Body Pesident MJ Singh said, "This is the first year of the new school, we have to make this go down in history."
It was a massive $80 million bond funding this project that was really needed. The old Granger High School opened in 1958 and needed some serious work.
Now the Granger Lancers have a new 450,000 square foot building with practically everything.
A new beautiful school the students hope will mean change for their future
Michael said, "It is a new beginning and that's something i'm hoping the next generation will carry on."
President Singh agreed, "We show them, we are not a ghetto school or gangster school it will change their opinions."
Changing the reputation of one of the most diverse schools in the state. Inside Granger 39 different languages are spoken.
Vivan explained, "Everyone is here: China, Australia, New Zealand; they are all here!"
The student body is proud of their differences, differences they embrace to make their high school experience incredible and prepare themselves for the future.
