Fremont girls basketball wins; plays in MSG Saturday

NEW YORK (ABC 4 Sports) - The Silverwolves beat 19th ranked Miami Senior in the opening of the Dick's Sporting Goods National High School Tournament.
NEW YORK (ABC 4 Sports) - The Fremont High School girls basketball team beat the 19th ranked Miami Senior High School (Florida) 43-33 to advance to the DICK'S Sporting Goods High School National Tournament championship game in Madison Square Garden Saturday.

Fremont jumped out to an early 6-2 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

Fremont led 18-8 at halftime, but Miami fought its way back, closing the lead to six late in the third quarter.

However, a late 7-0 run, gave the Silver Wolves a comfortable 33-19 lead heading into the fourth.

Miami never got closer than nine in the fourth quarter.

You can watch Fremont take on Riverdale Baptist (Maryland) at Madison Square Garden on ESPN at 8 a.m. Saturday.
