COSTA RICA (Good 4 Utah Sports) - Alvaro Saborio has broken his 5th metatarsal in his right foot and will miss the World Cup, according to statement released by Real Salt Lake.

The Real Salt Lake forward suffered the injury during a Costa Rica's national team training session Thursday.

In addition to missing the World Cup, the injury is expected to keep Saborio sidelined for the next 3-4 months.

Saborio will be re-examined by RSL's medical staff when he returns to Salt Lake City in the next few days.

Saborio is Real Salt Lake's all time leading goal scorer.  Before taking off to Costa Rica for World Cup training two weeks ago, Saborio lead RSL with 6 goals and 2 assists in 10 matches.
