Utah Jazz general manager Dennis Lindsey announced that the team has acquired the draft rights to Brazilian point guard Raul Neto, the 47th overall pick, from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for the Brooklyn Nets’ 2015 second round draft pick, which the Jazz attained in a previous trade.
The 6-1, 172-pound native of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil averaged 8.5 points, 2.9 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 24.0 minutes per game for Lagun Aro GBC of the Spanish ACB League in 2012-13. Neto participated in and was named MVP of adidas EUROCAMP 2013. A member of the Brazilian National Team in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, Neto was also a member of the U19 Brazilian National Team in 2009 and 2011. In addition, the 21-year-old was a World Team Selection at the 2011 Nike Hoop Summit.
Earlier in the draft, the Jazz made two separate trades to acquire point guard Trey Burke and center Rudy Gobert.
