SANDY, Utah (ABC 4 Sports) - Real Salt Lake has announced that Kyle Beckerman will miss the MLS All-Star Game due to a short-term foot injury. Beckerman will be replaced by Portland Timbers defender Liam Ridgewell.

"I looked as his feet, and they were just all beat up," RSL head coach Jeff Cassar said. "His feet were hurting him. We have to be mindful of Kyle's body, so we have to rest him whenever we possibly can. But his feet are really messed up."

Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando, who just tied the MLS all-time shutout record with 112 clean sheets, will represent the Claret-and-Cobalt in Portland. The MLS All-Stars will face Bayern Munich at Providence Park on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. MT. The summer showcase will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and UniMas.

Real Salt Lake will hope to have Beckerman available on Saturday, when it hosts D.C. United in a 2013 U.S. Open Cup Final rematch at 8:00 p.m. at Rio Tinto Stadium. The match will be televised on ABC-4.
