SANDY, Utah (ABC4 Sports) - Real Salt Lake captain Kyle Beckerman was sporting a new and somewhat shocking look during his exit interviews on Wednesday at RSL headquarters.
Beckerman cut off his trademark dreadlocks, and says he feels energized for the upcoming season.
So why did he do it?
"I don't know," Beckerman said with a smile. "I don't know what did it. Looking back over the season, we played that game Sunday and the second half of the season had a real energizing feel. I don't know if that pushed me to it, but my wife and I started snipping some on Monday after our game and kept going."
Beckerman, who just wrapped up his 11th season with RSL and his 18th in Major League Soccer, scored four goals this year, as RSL just missed the playoffs by one point.
