SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 Sports) - The Utah Jazz are going red for Tuesday's game against the Golden State Warriors.
The Jazz be wearing new cascading colored jerseys, and have transformed the court at Vivint Smart Home Arena to represent the beauty of the red rocks and canyon lands in Southern Utah.
"More than anything, I don't see the jersey as a gimmick as much as I do a reflection," said Jazz head coach Quin Snyder. "This is beautiful state, and to the extent that something as simple as a jersey can capture and represent that level of pride, I think it's a great thing."
"Yeah, it's different, it will be cool," said Jazz forward Joe Ingles. "From the pictures, the court looks great, the uniforms look great. If we win in them, we'll be happy."
Not that there's any good time to play the Warriors, but the Jazz are riding high after back-to-back last second wins on the road for their first two-game winning streak since early December. The Jazz knocked off Detroit in overtime, before beating Toronto on Friday on Ricky Rubio's game-winning 3-pointer.
"We needed a win like that," Rubio said. "We came strong in Detroit after a bad loss in Atlanta. Winning in overtime was great, but being able to do it back to back in two nights in a row, it was great."
"I think the next two games we were focused, we obviously started in Detroit and had a good win," said Ingles. "Every time you get a win, you try to carry it over."
The Jazz played Golden State tight last month in Oakland for a half before getting blown away in the third quarter. But playing the Warriors is always a good barometer to see where your team is.
"When you play against them, the atmosphere is a little different," said Rubio. "It's like playing one of the best teams ever and you always get excited."
"We've had a couple wins," added Ingles. "We feel pretty good defensively where we're at and getting better. Obviously, it's a pretty big test against these guys. "
It will be colorful at the very least.
