TMZ Report: Jazz center Jeff Withey accused of domestic violence by former girlfriend

Former fiancee Kennedy Summers has filed police report against Withey

LOS ANGELES (ABC4 Sports) - Jazz backup center Jeff Withey has been accused of domestic violence by his former girlfriend, former Playboy Playmate, Kennedy Summers, according to a report by TMZ.com.

The report says Summers, who was engaged to Withey until their breakup last October, filed a police report in Manhattan Beach on Tuesday.

Summers told TMZ.com that she filed the report now because since the Jazz are playing the Clippers in a playoff series in Los Angeles, she is concerned for her safety when Withey in is L.A. 

Summers' representative Zack Teperman told TMZ.com that "given the ongoing circumstances, our client now needs to protect herself and come forward about everything so this doesn't happen to her or others in the future."

Withey has played in 51 games this season for the Jazz, averaging 2.9 points and 2.4 rebounds per comment.

He is now Utah's primary backup center with Rudy Gobert injured. The in the first two games of the series, Withey has played a total of 18 minutes, scoring 5 points with 4 rebounds.

The Jazz released the following statement in response to the accusations:

“We are aware of the media reports involving Jeff Withey. At this point, we are collecting information and will have no further comment until we have a better understanding of the situation.”
