SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 Sports) - Rodney Hood scored 18 points, while Rudy Gobert added 15 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, as the Jazz defeated the Sydney Kings in their preseason opener, 108-83.
Rookie Donovan Mitchell added 11 points and 3 rebounds, while Thabo Sefolosha scored 10 points.
The Jazz shot 63 percent from the field, while holding the Kings to 40 percent from the floor.
Point guard Ricky Rubio made his Jazz debut, and scored just 3 points, but dished out 4 assists.
"It was good," said Hood. "It was good there is some stuff we need to clean up, but it was good to get out in front of the fans and play for the first time and get used to playing with each other even more."
"I think it was a great game for us," said Gobert. 'Everyone came in and played with intensity and played together, so it was good thing."
The game was extra special for Australians Joe Ingles and Dante Exum, who grew up with several members of the Syndey Kings.
"We've only had a week of practice, there were some really good things, some things we need to improve on," said Ingles, who scored 4 points and added 5 assists. "That's why it's the preseason, so we'll go in there tomorrow and watch some film."
Head coach Quin Snyder played 16 players in the game.
The Jazz next host Maccabi Haifa Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
