PROVO, Utah (ABC 4 Utah) - A nationally-recognized serial entrepreneur's latest start-up is helping Utah businesses just starting up succeed through hands-on training and mentorship inside Provo City's historic Startup Complex.
Whether it is a cool coincidence or something more, the almost-poetic blend of Startup history and business start-ups building Utah's future just works. It is part of the magic Provo City Deputy Mayor of Economic Development Dixon Holmes says creates Utah Valley's business-oriented 'mojo.'
"They see Vivint or Qualtrics or Inside Sales, and they say 'I'm going to be the next one,'" Holmes explained.
For years, Provo has proven to be a great place to build businesses. Now, entrepreneurs looking for a boost have a network of experienced professionals who can offer counsel and even help fine-tune business models.
As part of ABC 4 Utah's new Utah Success Stories series, Ali Monsen learned how renowned entrepreneurship professor John Richards is helping new companies avoid making so-called 'rookie mistakes' early on with his entrepreneur boot camp Startup Ignition.
