Water Main Break in West Valley City Showers Surrounding Houses

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) A water main break in West Valley City gave residents in this neighborhood quite the shower Saturday morning.

West Valley City Fire Captain Bruce Mylar said the incident happened just before 10 a.m. at 5147 West Cherrywood Ln, 4415 South.

Mylar said the pipe, buried at least 4 feet under the pavement, reacted unusually when it burst and sent the water shooting nearly 20 feet into the air, and onto the roofs of neighboring homes.

Granger Water District responded and was able to stop the water.

There was no damage to any of the homes. It is unknown why the pipe broke.
